一个能克服VAX/VMS实时性缺陷的操作系统——VAXELN

摘要 本文讨论、测试并比较了VAXELN与VAX/VMS的有关性能.结果表明:VAXELN是Digital专门为VAX机的实时专用系统开发而推出的实时操作系统.它的实时性比VAX/VMS好,较好地解决了VAX/VMS系统规模大、系统开销偏大和系统引导时间长的缺陷.它的特点是:先在 VAX/VMS系统上借用VAX/VMS和它自身提供的开发资源,开发出应用程序,然后,在菜单方式下生成一系统映象程序,最后,抛开VAX/VMS系统,将系统映象引导或下线加载到裸机上运行. Some performances of VAXELN and VAX / VMS are discussed, evaluated and compared with them. The discussion and tested data show that VAXELN is a DIGITAL realtime operating system specially designed to develop the dedicated, realtime applications. Its realtime performance is better than VAX/VMS. It better overcomes the defects of VAX / VMS that is broad in scale, great in system overhead and need long time to boot it. Its feature is as following: first, application program are developed on the VAX / VMS, depending on the VAX / VMS and the development resources with itself; then, a system mapping program is produced under menu; finally, VAX / VMS system is given up, system mapping program is booted or under__line loaded on the bald computer to run.
