Influences of Cultures of Other Ethnic Groups on Mongolian Culture as Judged by Linguistic Evidences

蒙古族在周围民族文化的影响下,自十二三世纪以来创制或使用过多种文字,记载了自己的灿烂文化,给后人留下了丰富的文化遗产。契丹、汉、突厥(回鹘)、梵、藏、女真(满族)、阿拉伯、波斯、高丽(朝鲜)、日本等诸民族及欧洲对蒙古语言文化都产生过影响。

This article describes briefly the influences in Mongolian language and culture by Khidan, Han, Turk(Uygur), Sanskrit, Tibetan, Jurchin (Manchurian), Arabia, Persian, Korean, Japanese and European cultures and languag-es, but it doesn't mention the influences in the others by Mongolian language and culture. In fact, the other nationalities weredeeply influenced by the Mongolian nationality. Especially during the Yuan Dynasty, the coexistent phenomenon of severalkinds of culture was formed because of the exchanges and close contacts among the nationalities in the east and west. In general,as to the characters the Mongolian nationality has used, the Mongolian nationality created their own characters, Uygur StyleMongolian characters because of the influence of the Uygur nationality. The Mongolian nationality used Mongolian New charac-ters' Phags-pa Script because of the influence of the Tibetan nationality. The Mongolian nationality left us the great historicaldocument in Chinese, 'The Secret History of the Yuan Dynasty' (or 'The Secret History of the Mongolian'), because of theinfluence of the Han nationality. The Mongolian nationality also left us the historical documents of Mongolian documents in Ara-bic alphabets because of the influence of Arabia and Persia. The Mongolian nationality created Cyrillic Mongolian characters usedin Mongolia, the Cyrillic Buryatian characters used in Buryatia, Russiah and the Cyrillic Kalmyk characters used in Kalmyk,Russia because of the influence of the Russia.
