The Leizhou Peninsula Harbors on the "Sea Silk Road

雷州半岛是海上丝绸之路前沿地段。自汉至清2000年间,雷州半岛主港口自南向北多次选址迁移,先后形成西汉徐闻港、唐宋元雷州港、明清赤坎港,在一定程度上反映了海上丝绸之路发展过程的阶段性。

The Leizhou Peninsula was the starting part of the 'Sea Silk Road'. In the 2 000-year Period of the Han and Qing Dynasties, the main harbor along the Leizhou Peninsula moved many times from the south to the north, forming respectively the Xuwen Harbor in the West Han Dynasty, the Leizhou Harbor in the Tang,Song and Yuan Dynasties,and the Chilean Harbor in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.This shows,to a certain extent, the process of the development of the 'Sea Silk Road'.
