Seeking and Getting into nothingness: The Cultural Perspective of the Scholar s' Psychology who Took Imperial Examinations in the Late Period of the Tang dynasty

晚唐士人科举心态表现于其诗文作品之中 ,反过来也影响着他们的文章创作。从逐贡的执着、飘泊的愁思到隐逸的情怀 ,从落第的凄凉到京都困守的苦痛 ,从及第的狂放、守选的迷惘到入仕的幻灭 ,晚唐文人走过了和血含泪的心路历程 ,今以黄滔为中心研究他们的心态 。

The psychology of the scholars who took imperial examinations in the late Tang dynasty was shown in their poems; in return, their psychology still affected their creation. From their consistantly seeking scholarly honour, profound melancholy caused by wandering life to affection of seclusion; from desolation caused by failure in examinations to agony caused by long staying in the capital; from madness caused by passing the examinations,and confusion caused by waiting for being chosen the goverment officials to the hopelessness for not being government officials, the scholars in the late period of the Tang dynasty underwent bitter processes with blood and tears. Now, the author studies by use of Mr. Huang Tao as an example their psychology, which is helpful to investigating the influence of imperial examination on the scholar mode and literature mode in the late period of the Tang dynasty.
