The application of 4 (2 phthalimidyl) benzoyl chloride as pre column derivative reagent of HPLC was introduced in the determination of compounds having hydroxyl and/or amino groups. The synthesis and physical and chemical properties of 4 (2 phthalimidyl) benzoyl chloride were discussed.
