Application of AO mini-plate in treatment of the metacarpal fractures

目的 探讨AO微型纯钛金属板钉内固定治疗掌骨骨折的技术及疗效。方法 对 2 1例 2 2处掌骨骨折 ,采用特制AO微型纯钛金属板钉进行内固定治疗。结果 术后随访 3～ 6个月 ,骨折愈合率达 10 0 %。伤手掌指关节和指间关节伸屈功能恢复正常。结论 对于外伤后康复要求较高的掌骨骨折 ,改进传统的治疗手法 ,采用特制的AO微型纯钛板钉行坚实的内固定治疗 ,辅以术后早期功能锻炼 ,可得到满意的治疗结果 ;

Objective To investigate the treatment outcome of internal fixation of the metacarpal fracture using the pure titanium mini plate. Methods 21 cases (22 lesions)of metacarpal fractures were involved. Internal fixation with custom made pure titanium mini plate was done. Results Postoperative follow up ranged from 3 to 6 months. 100% of fracture union was obtained. The function of flexion and extension of metacarpophalangeal and interphalangeal joints were achieved satisfactorily. Conclusions For the patients with metacarpal fracture, the rigid internal fixation with custom made pure titanium mini plate in combination with early rehabilitation can obtain satisfactory treatment outcome. It is an optimal strategy for metarcarpal fracture.
