It is regarded as an important quarantine task to improve the systems and techniques of fruit fly monitoring dealing with the challenges of entry WTO. GIS is a kind of modern information technology and can be used as an assistant method to monitor pests. Based on the introduction of GIS and it's application in the plant protection field, this paper deals with the analysis on the development and problems and approaches into the development of a prompt reaction system of fruit fly monitoring by means of Web-GIS.
