短消息服务于上世纪90年代初出现在欧洲,近几年获得了巨大发展,成了移动通信运营商增加收入的重要手段。继欧洲之后,亚洲成了短消息服务最具潜力的市场,而北美市场也被业界广泛看好。在未来,短消息服务除了在业务量上的不断发展外,在性能上也将得到提高,逐渐发展到增强型信息服务(EMS)和多媒体信息服务(MMS)。
SMS appeared in Europe in 1990s and obtained great development in re cent years.It becomes major m easure for op erator to increase income.In success of Europe,Asia has become the most po tential market for SMS,while North Ameri can market is also very ho peful.In the fu ture,SMS ser-vice will de velop in service traffic and im-p rove in performance.It will gradually de vel-op to EMS and MMS.
