Must I Establish the Principle for the Wife' ——Divorce Phenomenon in Poems of Yuan Dynasty

元曲中反映出的妻子主动要求离婚去夫之现象，大有异于历代反映弃妇遭遇的文化作品，也突破了历代史书所录丈夫休妻出妇的记载，更有悖于古代离婚制度所鼓吹的“七出”、“义绝”诸理。它反映了中原传统文化在蒙元时期的大破坏，显示出元曲家对封建传统礼教道德反叛鞭挞的勇气与胆略。

Reflected in the poems in Yuan Dynasty is the phenomenon of divorce initiated by the wife, a phenomenon drastically contrary to that reflected in literature works of various other dynasties when the wife is abandoned by the husband, a phenomenon that breaches the historical records in various dynasties, and is against the traditional principles for the wife to 'conform' and to 'sacrifice for justice'. It reflects the havoc of Chinas traditional culture during the Yuan Dynasty reigned by the Mongolians, and shows the poets courage and resource against the traditional feudalist ethics.
