论孙中山不支持新文化运动的原因

On the Reason for Sun Yatsen's Non-Support to no support the New Culture Movement

虽然新文化运动与孙中山从事的革命活动都是为了反击封建复辟势力,拯救中国,但孙中山并不支持新文化运动。其原因是:新文化派与孙中山对当时的国情认识不同,双方选择了不同的革命方式;孙中山不赞同新文化派对中国传统文化的彻底否定,主张对其继承、改造。孙中山对“五四”运动的支持,并不表明其支持学生的新思想,而是对学生的政治行动和爱国精神的同情和支持。

Though the purpose of the Culture Movement and revolutionary movement that Sun Yatsen engaged in is against restoration of feudalism and to save China, Sun Yatsen didn't support the New Culture Movement. The reason is that the New Culture Factions and Sun Yatsen realized the situations in China differently. They chose different revolutionary methods. Sun Yatsen was against the New Culture Factions' complete negative attitude to Chinese traditional culture and he advocated to inherit and develop it. Sun Yatsen supported the May 4th Movement, which didn't mean his supporting the students' new ideas, but meant his supporting and sympathy with the students' political acts and patriotic spirits.
