Seventeen urban mass transit lines will be constructed by Shanghai in thirty years. It is a more and more urgent task to plan a telecommunication transport network. Based on the analysis of the recent and a prediction of the funture traffic situation, the article holds that the planning project of telecommunication transport network for Shanghai urban mass transit shall be put into an overall consideration.
