The method of isolating DNA from dated seeds and RAPD primer screening of Perilla frutescens (L.) Britt. were studied. The results showed that the DNAs extracted from Perilla seeds with low vigor were good enough to be used for RAPD analysis and 42 polymorphic primers showing genetic differences among Perilla samples were screened from 86 primers.
