The rudder of a large ship is generally supported by carrier bearing and neck bearing, besides, by a horn which is appended to ship shell. The classification societies of all country hold that the horn should be taken as an elastic fulcrum of the rudder stock in the stock's calculation. The paper presents a force calculation method for the stock of semi-balanced rudder of this kind.
