PPTP协议定义了一种基于客户 /服务器的体系结构 ,把目前网络访问服务器的功能分解为访问集中器LAC和网络服务器LNS .本文讨论了PPTP协议的构成及工作原理 ,通过一次网络拨号过程详细描述了PPTP的具体实现 .

Typically, A user obtains a L2 connection to a Network Access Server (NAS) using a long-distance dial-up, then runs PPP over that connection, and then gets data from the corporation network. PPTP defines a Client-Server architecture. The function of current NAS is finished by PAC and PNS. In this paper we firstly introduce the composition and the principle of Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol, then we depict a dialing process by an application.
