Distinctions between Chinese Culture and Western Cultures Expressed in English Vocabulary

Language is the carrier of culture. Different cultural characteristics result from different values: while altruism is highly valued in Chinese dominant culture, egoism is considered as the proper goal of human actions in western cultures. Therefore, it is very important to study the distinctions of the two values and their influences on language learning.
