The Comparison on the Attitudes to the Study of History Between Confucius and Mencius

孔子的治史态度是严谨的、科学的 ,孟子在治史方面却过于主观化、片面化 ,这表现在三个方面 :不同的修史原则 ,对待史料的不同态度 ,历史评价的不同标准。孔孟不同的历史观、身份和经历 ,是二人治史态度差异的重要原因。

Confucius took a scientific?strict attitude to the study of history,while Mencius′ attitude to it is too subjective and prejudiced.The differences in their views are showed in three aspects;the principle of history writting;the attitude to history materials;the standard for judging historical figures.The reasons for these differences are mainly caused by their different views toward history,their different identifican,as well as their experience.
