从责任编辑的内涵出发 ,分析了责任编辑的角色定位 ,探讨了责任编辑的社会责任和经济责任。提出 :责任编辑的责任是有限责任 ,责任编辑应是稿件质量的主要责任者 ,而不应是经济责任的主要承担者 ;只有从经济责任上解放了责任编辑 。

From the connotation of responsible editors,the role location,social and economic responsibility of responsible editors are analyzed.It point out that responsible editors have limited responsibility.They should be responsible for the quality of papers,but should not be the main bearers of economic responsibility.Only freeing responsible editors from economic responsibility,can we promote the market development of books and periodicals.
