Palladium-103 is introduced in brachytherapy procedures because of its favorable physical properties, including its low energy, short half-life, and total cumulative delivery at a higher dose rate than Iodine-125. Permanent seed implantation with Palladium-103 became one of the methods of the systematical treatment of pancreatic carcinoma. It has certain value to the patients of unresectable carcinoma of pancreas.
