On Reading As a Subsidiary Therapy

阅读辅助疗法 ,是图书馆通过为心理或者生理疾病患者提供文献和咨询服务来实现预防、医治和康复治疗的一项新的文献服务形式。在当今社会变革使人们面临的心理问题十分突出 ,读者迫切需要图书馆开展阅读辅助疗法服务的环境下 ,各类图书馆应该针对自己服务对象的特点 ,积极地为读者提供各种富有特色的阅读辅助疗法服务 ,以便拓宽为读者服务的舞台以及在读者中树立起新的形象和威信 ,进而为社会稳定和社会进步作出自己新的贡献。

Reading as a subsidiary therapy refers to a new service in libraries by which the patients suffering from psychological or physiological diseases are provided reading materials or advice to bring about the medical effect and recovery. During the present social transition, the psychological problems become increasingly striking and the patients badly need the reading therapy in libraries. Under such circumstances, libraries should offer corresponding reading therapies to different kinds of patients.
