城镇密集区形成与发展是政治、社会、经济、文化多要素综合作用的结果 ,但在我国城镇密集区形成与发展过程的不同历史时期 ,其影响因素的侧重点又存在着巨大差异。古代城镇密集区的发展更多的是依赖战略地位和政治因素 ,近代城镇密集区的形成商业因素发挥了重要作用 。

The formation of city and town concentrated areas (CCAS) is the result of the inter function of the politics,society, economy and culture. But the important influential factors of their formation are different in various historical periods. The formation of ancient CCAS relied on their important strategic and political positions. Now, commerce is the important factor in their formation process.; the commercial factor plays a great part in their formation. The development of modernized CCAS still more depends on the direct investment and international trade under the background of economic globalization.
