The Thought of Xiangfan Agriculture Economy Development after Joining WTO

襄樊是湖北省农业大市 ,其农业发展具有一定的比较优势 :农业资源相对丰富 ,农业生产水平较高 ,农业技术力量较为雄厚 ,外向型农业亦有长足发展。同时亦存在农业抗灾能力差 ,农业生产投入低等突出问题。WTO在带来巨大机遇的同时 ,亦带来前所未有的挑战。襄樊农业发展应在抓住入世所带来的机遇的同时 ,积极迎接其挑战 :加速农业市场化进程 ;加快农村工业化和城市化发展 ;加强科技创新 ,加大科技培训、推广和示范力度 。

Xiangfan is a big agricultural city of Hubei province, whose agricultural development has certain comparable advantages, that is, relative abundant resources, high standard agricultural production, powerful technological strength, and its export-oriented agriculture has rapid development, meanwhile agricultural ability is lacking in resisting the calamity and there also exists a lower investment in agricultural production. The agricultural development of Xiangfan should catch the opportunity of the entrance to WTO to speed up the process of the market, and the development of industrialization and urbanization, strengthen S&T innovation, training, popularizing to improve quality of agricultural labors.
