Wei Zhuang and HAN Wo's Use of Rhyme in Their Poetry

诗歌用韵常常受当时当地实际语音的影响而出现不符合韵书的情况。诗人韦庄、韩的诗歌在一定程度上反映了晚唐北方语音的面貌 ,不仅出现了大量的出韵、借韵如典型的“东钟”合流、“支脂之微”通押、“寒桓元”通押等情况 ,还出现了一些上声与去声相押的特例。在对其实际用韵情况具体分析的基础上 ,可归纳出韦庄、韩诗歌的舒声韵 18部 ,入声韵 8部。

Application of rhymes in poetry does not conform to the rules for it is often influenced by the sounds of the actual speeches in a particular period of time and a particular region. Wei Zhuang and Huang Wo's poems to a degree give people a picture of the phonetic features of the north dialects of the late Tang Dynasty. Their poems include rhymes of the third rising tone and forth falling tone, rhyming deviants as well as borrowed rhymes like assimilated rhymes of 'dong' and 'zhong' and the universal rhyming of 'zhi' vs. 'wei', 'han' vs. 'huan' and 'yuan'. Based on a study of the actual use of rhymes in their poems, a conclusion is drawn that their rhymes comprise 18 volumes of easy verses and 8 volumes of pressing tone verses.
