Offering sacrifices to gods was an important event before the Qin Dynasty. Many poems in 'The Book of Songs' described the sacrificial rites. These poems showed how our ancestors offered the sacrifice to gods. These oblations not only reflected the different customs of the people of the time, but also indicated the significance of agriculture to the Chinese people. The analysis of these oblations will enable us to learn many things about the social systems, customs, to understand the deeper psychology of the people of that time, and to understand 'The Book of Songs' from the perspective of its existing period.
