摘要
利用光脉冲在光纤中传播时所遵守的相干非线性薛定谔耦合方程 ,研究了线偏振光在光纤中的传输特性 .结果表明 :由于线性双折射、非线性效应和色散的相互作用 ,导致光的偏振状态发生变化 ,产生交叉相位调制 ( XPM) ,从而导致调制不稳定性 .这一调制不稳性不仅在反常色散区产生 ,在正常色散区也能产生 ,并且线性双折射发生变化时 。
The coherently coupled nonlinear Schrdinger(NLS) equation of the propagation of a light pulse in a fiber has been studied.The results show that when a linearly polarized wave propagates in single mode fiber,it may change polarization state due to interaction among linear birefringence,nonlinear effect and chromatic dispersion.It will produce cross phase modulation and lead to modulation instability.The modulation instability can be produced not only in the normal dispersion regime but also in anomalous dispersion regime.Furthermore,the gain will change with linear birefringent.
