Design and realization of an Ethernet media converter using SOA

双绞线 /光纤媒体转换器可以大大扩大 LAN的直径 ,解决 LAN设备之间不同的接口互相匹配问题 ,实现以太网信号在不同传输介质之间的转换 .文章介绍了一种 1 0 Base- T双绞线 /光纤媒体转换器的工作原理、设计与实现 .由于光源选用 SOA,故此媒体转换器的波长符合 DWDM系统需求并且波长可调 .

By using twisted pair/fiber media converter, the diameter of LAN can be expanded greatly, the problem of the matching of different interfaces in different LAN devices can be solved, and Ethernet signal transmitted in one transmission media can be transformed to signal in another transmission media. This paper introduces how to design and realize a 10Base T twisted pair/fiber media converter, the wavelength of which is tunable and conform to DWDM system standards for SOA is chosen as the light source. The results of experiments and the conclusions are given at the end of the paper.
