Transcended Tragedy and Transcendence of Tragedy——On Modernism in the novel The Midnight

运用历史考察和哲学分析相结合的方法 ,从表层和深层 (具象和抽象 ,历时和共时 )两个方面 ,通过对吴荪甫人生命运悲剧性叙事的剖析 ,阐释了《子夜》的现代性意蕴 ,明确指出《子夜》不仅是一部现实主义的长篇巨著 ,但同时又是一部现代性很强的悲剧寓言。

By means of historical exploration and philosophical analysis, from two aspects of superficial and deep layers, and by study of narration of Wu Sunpu's life tragedy, the article expounds the modernism in The Midnight and clearly points out the Midnight is not only a realist novel, but a very modernistic fable as well.
