校长作为一个职业群体 ,必然呈现出水平意义上的层次性。名校长是广大校长所追求的理想目标 ,是校长发展的最高境界。名校长首先应具备一般校长所具备的共性因素 ,但名校长的成功还有很多特殊的内在因素 ,这些特殊的内在因素是他们走向成功的主要原因。探寻江苏省首批名校长成功的内在因素和一般规律 ,对于江苏乃至全国的名校长群体的崛起具有推动和指导作用 。

As a professional community, principals tend to display different levels of capacity. To be celebrated is a goal most of principals are in pursuit of and a high ideal for principals' development. Apart from the general characteristics a common principal should have, celebrated principals should possess special characteristics, the internal factors by which their successes are achieved. The exploration of the internal factors and the general principles of the successes achieved by the first batch of 'celebrated principals' functions to guide and impel the forming of 'celebrated principals' as a community in Jiangsu or in China, and can be drawn on to enhance the training and development of principals
