Under the guidance of Materialist view of history Fan Wen lan was first to disclose the trend of the increasingly closer ethnical relationships and stronger ethnical assimilation in the history of China, thus setting a precedent for the large scale historical record of minorities in general history with extremely valuable referential data for today's study of national history and the making of national policies.
