On Shift of Visual Angle & Renewal of Ideas in Cultural Exchange ——Taking Guo Song-tao as An Example

本土、异域文化因异同而有交流 ,因交流而有价值评判 ;其层次和水平 ,取决于主体的视角与观念。主体的视角转移与观念更新 ,往往预示着一种崭新的文化观的诞生。郭嵩焘是中国最早派驻西方的外交使节和具有官方色彩的文化使者 ,是中西文化交流中的先行者。使西期间 ,郭广泛地接触了西方社会 ,认真追索了西方富强的文化原因。对西方哲学、经济学以及政治、法律、新闻等方面作了较为理性的分析和评价 ,并表现出了一种谨慎认同和接受的倾向。郭的西方文化观已跳出了传统的基于本土立场的“中体西用”论 ,而进到了站在西方立场评价西方文化的“平情立言”的高度。

Alike or different,native and foreign cultures are exchanged,and hence the value judgment,which depends upon the perceivers visual angle and ideas.Ones visual angle and renewal of ideas usually indicates the birth of a bright new outlook on culture.Guo Song tao,as an earliest Chinese ambassador in the West,and an official messenger of culture,was a pioneer in Chinese and Western cultural exchange.During the years as an ambassador in the west,Guo got widely in touch with the western society and studied the cultural reasons for the prosperity of the western countries.He showed an inclination of cautious approval and acceptance in making rational analysis and judgments of the western philosophy,economy,politics,law,journalism and etc.which indicates that Guo smashed the China centered conventions and took a western stand to comment on the western culture.This very renewal of Guos ideas was no doubt a benefit from his shift of visual angle in the cultural exchange.
