闽台素有“好巫尚鬼”的传统 ,民间信仰特别发达 ,它以深不可拔的传统和无孔不入的力量 ,对闽台社会历史产生重要的影响。闽台民间信仰曾经为闽台先民拓展生活空间提供精神支柱 ,并在维系基层社会的正常秩序、传承文化传统、丰富民众经济文化生活 ,以及参与社会教化、凝聚民族精神等方面起着重要作用。时至今日 ,闽台民间信仰仍然在民间发挥其特有的社会作用 。
