Imitation, copy and repetition in the 20th century are far from the reproduction of the same thing on a large scale and in a simple style. The exchange between different mediums usually classified into the postmodern category and the growing haziness between 'high-class arts' and 'mass culture' tell us the story of the cultural colorfulness of the modem age. Genuine repetition brings us a kind of admiration impossible in the original. It is meaningless to ask whether the admiration belongs to the modern or the postmodern in its nature.
