从《庄子》内篇中“息”“止”等词的用法看《逍遥游》“六月息”的含义

《庄子·逍遥游》中“去以六月息”的“息” ,前哲时贤或释为“休息” ,或释为“气息 ,指风”。从对《庄子》内篇中“息”及与之相关的词的用法统计中可以看出 ,《庄子》内篇中 ,凡“停留 ,止息”都说“止” ,不说“息” ,“息”最主要的用法是作名词或动词 ,意为“气息 ,呼吸”。所以 ,这个“息”应采取第二种解释 ,“去以六月息”意为“(大鹏 )离开北海要凭借六月的大风”。

In the chapter 'Wandering in Absolute Freedom' in Zhuang Zi, ancient sages have various opinions about 'xi' in the sentence of 'Qu Yi Liu Yue Xi'. Some sages interpret it as 'rest' while others 'breath',which refers to the 'wind'. Considering the interpretations of 'xi'in the Inner Chapters of Zhuang Zi and collections of usage related with it, we can observe that 'ting liu' and 'zhi xi'refer to 'stop' instead of 'rest'.'Xi' always performs the function of a noun or a verb, which means 'breath' or 'breathe'. So 'xi' in the sentence should be interpreted as 'wind'. From the analyses, we can conclude that the sentence 'Qu Yi Liu Yue Xi' means that 'the Peng flaps and leavesNorth Sea relying on the gale of June'.
