On the Origin of the Shui Ethnic Group

本文在总结诸家论述的基础上 ,从传说、语言、信仰、风俗、文献五个方面对水族族源试作探索 ,赞同今天的水族是由古代百越族群中骆越的一支发展而来的单一民族 ,原始居地应为今广东。

Based on the research results achieved by different schools of thought, this article tries to probe into the origin of the Shui Ethnic Group in the aspects of folklore, languages, beliefs, customs and documents. The author confirms the viewpoint that the Shui Ethnic Group is a single group originated from a branch of the ancient Luo Yue Group, which originally belonged to Bai_yue Ethnic Groups and inhabited in the coast areas of today's Guangdong and Guangxi.
