依据语言学、跨文化交际及翻译等理论 ,对中国国粹中的“面子”、“缘分”等语的英译从实际运用到理论问题做个探讨 ,从中发现 :翻译的实质是文化翻译。

According to the theories of linguistics,intercultural communication and translation ,this paper,from practice to theory, discusses the English translation of '面子','缘分'(mianzi,yuanfen)etc.,the quintessence of Chinese culture,from which, we have come to discover that the essence of translation is a cultural translation.
