This paper expounds on some factors regarding Bai Yu_chan's influence on the Jin Dan school of taoism in the Southern Song Dynasty in the context of Taoism, Dhy ana and Confucianism interaction, probing into Bai Yu_chan's social_historical s tatus and thought. It is opined that thanks to the close integration of Bai Yu_c han's social thought and his internal taoism theory, the social conduct modes th us resulted were much conducive to the establishment of the Jin Dan school of ta oism in the Southern Song Dynasty.
