文章探讨了国内英语修辞学界对于比喻的本体、喻体研究的不足 ,提出本体、喻体的界定 ,判断的必要性及方法 ,同时对比喻中本体。

Comparison exists everywhere,but there seems little study on the identification of the tenor,the vehicle.This paper deals with this problem and points out the necessity of distinguishing the tenor,the vehicle and the similarity for the comprehension of a metaphorical utterance.Also the paper demonstrates the various situations then the tenor,the vehicle,and the similarity emerge or conceal.demonstrates the various situations then the tenor,the vehicle,and the similarity emerge or conceal.
