自从佛教传入中国以后 ,不仅能迅速传播 ,而且能与传统儒、道鼎足而三甚至合流 ,对中国的政治、经济、文化、文学艺术等产生难以估量的影响 ,固然有其历史的、思想的、时代的原因 ,也离不开各阶层人物的理论鼓吹和文人士大夫的雅兴 ,但历代封建帝王所推行的实用宗教政策和政治目的 。

since it was introduced into china,Buddhism,as a foreign religion,had spread rapidly.Not only did it mix wich the traditiomal Confucianism and Taoism but with these two religions formed a situation of tripartite forces . This has exerted great impact upon Chinese politics ,economy , culture , ants and literature . There are , of course , some historical and ideological causes for this . PersoKnages of various classes gave their praises in theory . Men of letters and officials also had keen interest in it . But it is the practical religious policies and political objectives of the emperors of the various dynasties that play the decisive role in it .
