It is the overweening arrogance that the early British colonizers represent themselves in their imperial literature, while the resistance of the Colonial Other's is totally ignored. Therefore, under the patriarchal discourses, images of the African black women in imperial literature are stereotyped to be backward and uncivilized; the black women are considered as the subversive current to the white race.In fact, they serve the symbol of imperial literature with their absolute silence and submission.
