Plates of tho type studied in this paper have traditionally brought about serious difficulties to the analyst because of the formidable problem of trying to satisfy the free edge conditions. Such difficulties have been obviated through exploitation of the method of superposition and the boundary conditions found to be satisfied to any disired degree of exactitude. The governing differential equations are, of course, completely satisfied by each term used in the displacement.
