摘要
论述了临界期前后的语言习得者在大脑发育、认知模式及语言输入等方面的差异如何决定了临界期前后语言习得的差异 ,指出临界期是决定这些差异的根本原因 ,进而提出第二语言习得同第一语言习得一样存在临界期 ,而这个临界期同第一语言习得临界期一样 。
Success in first language acquisition(FLA)is easy to achieve,whereas success in second language acquisition(SLA)by adults reveals low rate of success. This paper attempts to expose the differences between language learners before and after the critical period in respect of cerebral development, cognitive mode and language input, and how these differences determine the differences between language acquisition before and after the critical period. On the basis of the analysis, this paper points out that the decisive factor for these differences is the critical period, and that the critical period for SLA comes before puberty.
