This paper attempts at a brief analysis of other - initiated repair in discourse, it discusses the location in which other - initiated repair is initiated, the 'distance' between other- initiation (OI) and trouble source (TS). The paper then presents major devices used for OI which is delayed within next turn or not delayed. The authors indicate that other- initiated repair is featured by its flexible occurrence in discourse. It is anticipated that the paper can help to better understand discourse repair and put it to practical uses.
