While subverting the inside formation and structure of the traditional novel, re-thinking, subverting and dispelling the form of novel and the narrative itself, the postmodernist novel has also evolved the reconstructive tendency of its own. By using the non-linear narration, playful form, and combination of extreme illusions and everyday details, Barthelme's novel Snow White distinctly manifests the reconstructive features of postmodernism such as irony, hybridization, carnivalization, performance and participation, constructionism and immanence.
