The Chinese foreign scholars always have different views on the source and meaning of “ Shaman ”.If we make philological studies of the source and meaning of “ Shaman ” again according to the Chinese ancient language of ethnic minorities and history documents,we could draw a conclusion that “ Shaman ” is not foreign word,but Chinese ancient Nüchên language,and its meaning is “wisest man”,but not “excited,restless and mad man”.
