It is possible to optimize the configuration of a crude oil loading terminal by using various random and fixed parameters for representation of the total system and optimising all parameters. The paper introduces the optimization criteria and puts forward the concept of relative cost. It is said that the minimum relative eost represents the optimizing value. For batching operational sequence , the paper presents the optimum tank distribution and the optinnm cycle time of batching operation.
