Chitosan has many biological functions such as antibiosis, anti-tumor, cholestrol-decreasing, growth-promotion etc. It will be a new green feed additive in the future. The preparation-methods, functions of chitosan were reviewed. The application effects and prospects of chitosan in animal feed were also discussed.
