The necessity and feasibility of implementing polymer flooding in Shengli petroliferous province are taken up briefly. The development course and achieved effect of the polymer flooding are summarized. The description centres on a complete set of techniques formed by the polymer flooding, such as laboratory evaluation, plan optimization, dynamic monitoring regulation, comprehensive evaluation on the effect and so on. The main measures taken to improve the effect are advanced. At last, the problems and the future direction of implementing polymer flooding in Shengli petroliferous province are pointed out.
