The expansive soils is the high?plastic clay which has the properties of expansive structure,multi?fracture,strong expansion and contract and strong attenuation.Therefore,the deformation of the side slopes and the base courses beds become the wost common and serious problem in the high?ways construction in the expansive soils area.The author describes the functional principles of the NCS harding agents and the methods for mixing NCS hardening agents with expansive soils to improve the expansive soils structure and the construction technology for the base courses filling quality.
