On the Streamy Couplet

一种有影响的观点认为,流水对就是复合句。这种现点缩小了流水对的范围,因为流水对不限于复合句;这种观点又扩大了流水对在复合句里的范围,因为并非所有复合句形式的对联都构成流水对。

An influential view thinks of the streamy couplet as the compound sentence. This kind of view narrows the scope of the streamy conplet, for the streamy couplet is not restricted to the compound sentence; this view also extends the scope of the streamy couplet in the conpound sentence, for not all the couplets in the form of a compound sentence are streamy couplets.
