This paper is a general research on the history, present situation and problems of ecological environment protection of Autonomous Prefecture of Xishuangbanna and its emphasis is the description of facts instead of the author's criticism. The paper is divided into four parts: firstly it introduces the general situation of ecological environment of Xishuangbanna and generalizes the change of the ecological environment there. Secondly, the government and ecological environment protection, Ⅰgovernment's attitudes to ecological environment protection, Ⅱestablishment of local environment protection organs, Ⅲrelevant local environment protection legislation and law enforcement, Ⅳmain work of authority of prefecture preserves, Ⅴdirect influence of financial condition of local government on ecological environment protection.
