WTO and China's Logistics Industry: Opportunities, Challenges and Countermeasures

中美WTO协议关于物流方面的条款,对我国物流业具有影响;加入WTO将给中国物流业在改革流通体制、改善投资环境、吸收外资、引进国外先进技术和管理理念、增强物流企业竞争力、开拓国际市场等方面带来良好的发展机遇;同时对我国物流业在流通体制、企业制度、法律法规、信息管理和技术、人才教育、观念更新及基础设施等方面也形成严峻挑战。我国物流业应对WTO应采取相应的对策和措施,从而提高我国物流业整体竞争水平,促进我国物流业健康、快速、有序的发展。

This paper analyzes the influence of China's entry into the WTO on the development of logistics industry. It holds that China's entry into the WTO will bring great opportunities of development to China's logistics industry in reforming our circulation system, improving investment circumstances, absorbing foreign capitals, introducing advanced technology and management ideas, enhancing logistics enterprises' competitive capabilities, expanding international markets and so on. Meanwhile, it indicates that China's entry into the WTO will also bring severe challenges in the following aspects, such as circulation system, enterprises regulation, laws and rules, information management and technology, education of qualicfied personnel, ideas renewing, basic facilities and so on. On this basis, this paper puts forward some countermeasures for our government and the enterprises to improve the competitiveness for our logistics industry.
